In the last few days, the tragic death of Phillip Seymour Hoffman has brought a great deal of public attention to the epidemic of Heroin use that is killing more and more people. Deaths from Heroin have risen 45% since 2006, while as we all know, deaths from marijuana overdose remain at zero.
Michael Botticelli is the deputy director of the ONDCP (Office of National Drug Control Policy). You may recognize them from their twitter handle @ONDCP, where they post a truly disheartening stream of misinformation, and borrowed invective.
To be honest, this video is the first time I have ever heard of Steve Cohen, but it is truly refreshing to hear him ask the same things of the ONDCP, such as how it can justify refusing to acknowledge that heroin is more dangerous than marijuana.
